,I attended "The Home Song Stories"on wednesday night at Great World City. The reception was vastly different from that of "881"'s which i attended few weeks back. The classy layout of the cocktail party, along with red wine served made me feel glad i was dressed for the occasion. Also, i'm starting to get the hang of all these social events, so it's kinda good in a way.
In the theatres, a well scripted speech greeted the audience. That was followed by an attempt to be funny, which would be sort of funny if not for the entire list of examples listed. Maybe a few would do. Then came the sucking up with sudden outburst in volume for whatever reason. Lastly, the cast - Qi Yuwu and Joel lok took the stage before the film started.

The movie was depressing to a great extent and even more saddening when you realised it's a true story. Like what Tim said, you felt like you were literally sucked into the movie, you will go through an emotional rollercoaster ride with the characters. And you can see the gradual changes in the characters outlook. From the glam singer to the frail, from being innocent to a "cheap slut", from the loving son to one who became nonchalent.
Joel Lok acting as 'Tom' in the film gave an impressive performance, especially those which involved expressing of inner emotions. In fact, i dare to say he outshone the more experienced ones to become the most memorable character in the film.
